Included in our Damnoen Saduak Floating Market Tour was
visiting the Samphran Elephant Ground and Crocodile Zoo. The zoo wasn’t exactly a place where you can
find or learn more about Thai culture or history, but it was entertaining
altogether.
Kids and kids at heart loved watching
the elephants worked like they were once used by Siamese and Burmese armies,
and also had fun as they played football and showed some dancing skills.
The zoo also had a Crocodile show
where man and crocodiles wrestle each other.
As I am writing this, I still remember watching uneasily. I felt like something
horrible could happen with just a wrong move of the trainer or mood swing of
the crocs. Needless to say, I didn’t
finish the performance. Haha!
As my Dad said, the tour package
we bought online was ‘sulit’ or ‘getting what you paid for’ as Kris Aquino said in her TV commercial. So
if you’re planning to check out the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market Tour, might
as well arrange a trip to this zoo, especially if there are children with
you. It‘s an added bonus for the 2-hour ride you’ll be taking back and forth
Bangkok.
Hoping you'll have fun too,
Gladys
