KyoChon Philippines | The New Double-Fried Chicken Star?

KyoChon opened its first branch in the Philippines last April 29, 2014 at SM Megamall. Since I am a huge fan of BonChon, I was curious if KyoChon serves better double-fried chicken given that they are the pioneer of this dish in South Korea. I tagged my friend +Mc  along to find out which of the two restaurants is better according to my taste buds. So what's my verdict? Read on to find out.

Since it was only the two of us, the waiter suggested we go for Combo 1 which includes 10 pcs wings, salad, 2 cups of rice and 2 drinks. Total is Php549 (+5% service charge).

We requested half of the chicken, 'Original' and the other half, spicy or which they refer to as 'Red Series'. We actually liked it. Every aspect of what a fried chicken should be is there- appetizing, tasty, crispy. However we still think BonChon's is more flavorful and had the spice we are used to.

Their salad was a win for me. It was fresh and the dressing was really delicious.

All in all, we enjoyed our meal. It just didn't have the x-factor that would keep us coming back for more. Having also tried Manang's and Charlie Chicken before, we still think BonChon is the star of double-fried chicken restaurants in the Philippines.

Here's a glimpse of what's more on KyoChon's menu:

Compared to other restaurants which serve double-fried chicken, KyoChon has the coziest ambience.

KyoChon's endorser is Lee Min Ho and if you are a fan of his, you'll definitely drool over his photos everywhere inside the restaurant. Too bad he can't be ordered :D

Any tips on where to find the best double-fried chicken? Share your thoughts below and I might probably try it real soon.
